We begin our Sacred Valley excursion at 6:30 a.m., heading to Chinchero, where we’ll discover Inca walls and the colonial church. Here, we’ll experience a cultural event featuring a demonstration of traditional textile art. Then we head to Moray, an archaeological complex with circular terraces that show Inca agricultural ingenuity. We continue to the famous Maras Salt Mines, with more than 3,000 salt ponds in use since Inca times.
The next stop is Urubamba, where we’ll enjoy a buffet lunch. In the afternoon, we explore Ollantaytambo, known as “the last living Inca city,” a place full of history, temples, and terraces that still preserve their original essence. We end the day at Ollantaytambo train station, where we’ll board our tourist train bound for Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). Upon arrival, they’ll accompany us to the hotel, and we’ll have time to explore the place or relax in the Machu Picchu hot springs.
